Auction 64 – DIMORE | Old Masters – 19th-20th Century Paintings – Silver – Furniture – Art Objects. Gregory’s Auction House is pleased to present the upcoming auction scheduled for Wednesday, October 25th, at 3:00 PM, both in-person at the historic venue of Palazzo Brazzetti (Via San Vitale, 13 – Bologna) and online. As usual, the auction will be preceded by several days dedicated to the exhibition, during which interested parties can personally view the lots that will be auctioned. The exhibition days will be on Thursday, October 19th, Friday, October 20th, Monday, October 23rd, and Tuesday, October 24th, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

The selection of works presented in this event includes some magnificent ancient paintings from important private collections, including a Madonna col Bambino by Luca Giordano, San Giovanni Battista nel deserto by Ludovico Lana, Il ritrovamento della tomba di San Giacomo by Giacomo Bolognini, l’Annunciazione by Bernardo Strozzi, and la Madonna che veglia il Bambino by Donato Creti.

Among the 19th and 20th-century paintings, notable works include Alfredo Protti‘s “Mattino” from 1913 and “Farfalle” and “Idillio” from the early 1920s. These three works were exhibited at the artist’s solo exhibition at the Civic Museum – Bologna in the autumn of 1971.

This event also features valuable furniture, including a pair of inlaid walnut, cherry, maple, and bois de rose sideboards and a pair of French consoles with Portoro marble tops from the late 18th century.
