We are pleased to announce the upcoming Modern and Contemporary Art Auction, which will be held on February 10th. You can participate online. The catalog, to be released shortly, will present an important selection of works by historic, avant-garde, and contemporary artists, including some of the most significant creations in the international art scene. The exhibition of the works will be open to the public on February 5th, 6th, and 7th, offering the opportunity to closely admire the pieces up for sale.
Among the Bolognese artists featured: Carlo Corsi, known for his symbolist and surrealist style, created works where mystery and the dreamlike blend, exploring the unconscious and the nuances of the human psyche. His 1918 painting ‘Forma e ventaglio’ , exhibited at the retrospective at the Palazzo dei Diamanti – Ferrara, and at the exhibition ‘I Maestri bolognesi alle grandi mostre della secessione romana 1913 – 1916’, Republic of San Marino. Marcello Jori, with an important oil painting that offers a suggestive and enigmatic visual puzzle. Two works by Pompilio Mandelli, who made a significant contribution to the development of informal art in Bologna, creating visual suggestions where form becomes language, alongside works by Sergio Romiti. A watercolor on paper by Romiti, whose exploration of abstraction captures the essence of movement and space, creating compositions that speak of energy and vitality.
The auction will also feature a collection of works by historical avant-garde artists from a major Bolognese collection: František Kupka, László Moholy-Nagy, Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, and Michail Larionov.
We are excited to present the 1973 work Simmetrico Asimmetrico by Alighiero Boetti, one of the great masters of conceptual art, whose works reflect on universal themes such as language, identity, and geopolitics, resulting in a practice that is both intellectual and visually captivating. Also featured will be works by Paolo Scheggi, Graham Vivian Sutherland, and Roberto Sebastian Antonio Matta.
The world of emotions and memory will be represented by Ottone Rosai and Renato Guttuso.
