Large 1970s Venini Murano suspension chandelier with 76 amber, light blue and clear glass triedri

Venini – Murano, Large Pendant Chandelier, 1970s.

The large Venini – Murano pendant chandelier, created in the 1970s, represents a particularly striking example of Murano lighting production. In particular, the work combines a linear and rigorous structure with the chromatic richness of glass, creating a balance between geometry, light and material.

The rectangular structure in lacquered wood and brass supports a diffuser composed of 76 hanging Murano glass trihedrons, in amber, light blue and clear glass. Furthermore, the sequential arrangement of the elements creates a regular visual rhythm, modulating the light and generating different reflections according to the viewing angle. Overall, the chandelier has a strong architectural presence, particularly suitable for large interiors and representative spaces.

Of particular interest is also the relationship between the upper structure, suspended by two cylindrical brass rods, and the lower band composed of the trihedrons. Indeed, the contrast between the linearity of the metal profiles and the transparency of the glass enhances the elegant and decorative character of the whole, reflecting the research into glass and light that characterised Murano production in the second half of the twentieth century.
