Gae Aulenti per Artemide, Lampada da tavolo, Modello "Mezzo Oracolo", Milano Anni '70.

Gae Aulenti (1927–2012), Table Lamp, Model “Mezzo Oracolo”, Milan, 1970s.

This “Mezzo Oracolotable lamp was designed by Gae Aulenti for Artemide in the 1970s. It represents one of the most refined examples of contemporary Italian design. Characterised by an essential yet sculptural form, the lamp combines a spherical opaline glass diffuser with a cylindrical painted metal base.

Simple yet full of personality, the design reflects Aulenti’s approach as an internationally renowned architect and designer, always committed to transforming functional objects into architectural elements. Her collaboration with Artemide produced a series of iconic creations in which light becomes the focal point of space and a means of dialogue between form and function.

The “Mezzo Oracolo” perfectly embodies Gae Aulenti’s design philosophy: an elegant, understated yet powerful object, capable of adapting to any contemporary interior while continuing to evoke the sophisticated vision of twentieth-century Italian design.
