Detail of the "Mitasi" wall light by Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide, 1990s

Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide, Seven “Mitasi” Wall Lamps, 1990s.

LThe “Mitasi” wall lamps designed by Ernesto Gismondi for Artemide in the 1990s represent a significant example of Italian lighting design, in which formal simplicity, function and quality of light are integrated into a highly balanced project.

In “Mitasi”, the black lacquered metal body supports a double-shell diffuser in moulded and sandblasted glass, characterised by an elongated and symmetrical form. Furthermore, the light is diffused softly and evenly, enhancing the profile of the lamp and creating a luminous effect that directly engages with the wall. Overall, the design remains discreet yet highly recognisable, consistent with Ernesto Gismondi’s research and Artemide’s design language.

Of particular interest is also the presence of the manufacturer’s mark under the base, allowing the examples to be precisely identified as Artemide production. The group of seven lamps also makes it possible to view the model not only as a single light source, but as a modular element capable of creating luminous sequences and architectural compositions.

Description: Black lacquered metal with double-shell diffuser in moulded and sandblasted glass, bearing the manufacturer’s mark under the base. H cm 14.5 × 41 × 14.5.
