Design and Decorative Arts of the 20th Century
On Thursday, June 4th, 2026, Gregory’s Casa d’Aste will hold Auction 94 – 20th Century Design and Decorative Arts, a sale dedicated to historic Italian and international design, with online and telephone bidding available.
The auction brings together a selection of 292 lots including Murano art glass, 20th-century ceramics, furniture, lighting and decorative objects, exploring some of the most significant periods of Italian design throughout the twentieth century.
Particularly noteworthy is the section dedicated to Murano glass, featuring works by Venini, Seguso Vetri d’Arte, Lino Tagliapietra, Loredano Rosin, Flavio Poli and Licio Zanetti, alongside a selection of historic lighting and lamps by Stilnovo, Barovier & Toso, Elio Martinelli and Gae Aulenti, ranging from iconic design to experimental creations of the late twentieth century.
Also of great importance is the section devoted to decorative and sculptural ceramics, with works by Helen Konig Scavini for Lenci Torino, Gio Ponti for Richard Ginori, Sandro Vacchetti, Giovanni Ronzan, Anna Olga Modigliani and Melandri & Focaccia, together with important 20th-century manufacturers such as Lenci, Essevi and C.I.A. Manna, including several of the auction’s top lots.
The catalogue is completed by a selection of furniture and iconic Italian design pieces by Carlo Scarpa, Melchiorre Bega, Vittorio Dassi, Silvio Cavatorta, Mario Bellini and Memphis Milano, coming from private collections.
