Private Contemporary Art Collections
Gregory’s Auction House is thrilled to present the most anticipated event of September: Auction 63 – PRIVATE CONTEMPORARY ART COLLECTIONS.
The catalog for the event, featuring 48 carefully selected works of contemporary art from significant private collections, is available.
The auction took place on Thursday, September 14th, starting at 3:00 PM, and you can participate either in person or follow the event online. The exhibition of the artworks was held at Palazzo Brazzetti (Via San Vitale, 13 – Bologna) on Monday, September 11th, Tuesday, September 12th, and Wednesday, September 13th, during the following hours: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
Leading the selection is a 1986 artwork by Mattia Moreni, “Un gomitolo di confusione precipitato e la chiarezza è confusione stilizzata“, an intense oil on canvas accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and featured in the volume “Mattia Moreni. The Regressive Consciousness 1983-1989.”
Next in line are two compositions by Roberto Miniati, “Primo Piano” from 2019 and “Esigenza P” from 2007, as well as two acrylics by Adel Saghir, one from 1990 and one from 1973.
Continuing, we have a unique work by Roberto Crippa, “La navicella spaziale dei miei sogni,” created in 1970, an acrylic piece by the Genoese artist Emilio Scanavino, and two paintings by Giulio Turcato.
Also featured is the rare sculpture “Due Figure,” created by Luciano Minguzzi in 1950. This artwork, coming from an important collection in Ferrara, is accompanied by an extensive bibliography that can be consulted at our location.
The selection proceeds with other intriguing examples of contemporary art, including a large-scale painting by Maurizio Bottarelli (H cm 150×300), the charming “Romeo” by Patrizia Medail, and the grand vase depicting the Venice skyline created by Piero Pizzi Cannella.
Lot 41 features “ErmEstEtica HarlemArlecchino” by Luigi Ontani. This monumental ceramic sculpture, created by the artist in collaboration with the Bottega Gatti in Faenza, is also accompanied by a photograph depicting it with the artist.
The event will conclude with Nicola Evangelisti‘s luminous installation “Chromocosmos NE1” and an oil on cardboard by Vasarely.
