Gregory’s presented Auction 84: a catalogue full of 19th and 20th century paintings from private Italian collections. It spanned more than a century of figurative painting, including landscapes, portraits and genre scenes.
The event was a great success with the public and sales. The proposed selection of works attracted considerable interest, contributing significantly to the success of the auction. The results achieved reflect the passion of the collectors. We would like to thank everyone for their established trust.
Among the most popular lots at Auction 84 were works by Michele Cascella, who was particularly successful with two luminous and delicate views (lots 61 and 62), an expression of his unmistakable pictorial sensitivity. Alessio Issupoff was also well received with his painting Card Player (lot 13), which attracted the interest of collectors due to its narrative and expressive force.
The catalogue was further enhanced by the presence of prominent artists such as Alberto Pasini, Arturo Noci, Domenico Morelli, Silvestro Lega and Tranquillo Cremona, whose works confirmed the high quality and variety of the offer.
Local painting also played a prominent role: Giuliano Amadori proposed a cohesive nucleus of eight works (lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 57, 58, 59 and 60), united by stylistic and thematic coherence, while Norma Mascellani (lots 28, 29 and 30) stood out for her personal and conscious vision of figurative painting.
