Auction 86 – MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART

Gregory’s opens the second half of 2025 with an auction dedicated to Modern and Contemporary Art, scheduled for 4 September at Palazzo Brazzetti in Bologna. The Auction 86 catalogue presents 190 lots of paintings, graphics, sculptures and photographs by 20th-century artists who were leading figures on the Italian and international art scene.
Among the most notable works are: “Spirali” by Roberto Crippa from 1950, two refined abstract compositions by André Lanskoy from the early 1970s, a vibrant canvas by Paul Jenkins, and significant works by visionaries Phillip Martin and Roman Romanyshyn.
The exhibition is completed by Michele Cascella’s “Vaso di Fiori”, Julien Blaine‘s verbal-visual research, and Guy Harloff‘s work on paper. There are also five photographic works by Dino Pedriali dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini, images that document one of the last and most intimate portraits of the great Italian intellectual.
Ample space is also devoted to graphic art, with a diverse selection of engravings, screen prints and lithographs by Italian artists of the late 20th century.
There is also a focus on artists linked to Bologna, such as Pompilio Mandelli, Mario Nanni, Filippo Albertoni, Severo Pozzati (Sepo) and Francesco Brunetti, creator of four sculptures in which material experimentation interacts with form and surface, resulting in a personal and recognisable plastic language.
